Home Compostable
Certified Home Compostable means a designed earth friendly product that brings rich nutrients to the soil when it disintegrates. Disintegration does not require a controlled facility; it can be added to your home garden or compost heap. Disintegration occurs within 180 days and often sooner.

Facility Dependent
Industrial Compostable
Industrial Compostable means products require a controlled facility to compost, but there are only 185 Composting Facilities in the United States. While this is still much better than and cheaper than recycling, this severely limits access and volume for the industrial composting of products.
